This advice is relevant only for Richer Sounds customers who purchased a Primary E record player between November 1st 2022 and August 15th 2023.
Richer Sounds and Henley Audio have been made aware of a potential issue with a small number of Pro-Ject Audio Systems Primary E turntables, sold between November 2022 and August 2023 by Richer Sounds in the UK.
This issue affects some Primary E turntables within the following serial number range:
22S114000 – 22S119050
The issue relates to the installation of a power plug that does not meet BS1363 British Standard.
Details on how to confirm if your product is affected and what action you can take is detailed below:
If you have bought a Pro-Ject Primary E turntable from Richer Sounds between November 1st 2022 and 15th August 2023 and your serial number is between 22S114000 and 22S119050, please do the following:
If your power plug looks like Image 1, then no further action is required.
If your power plug looks like Image 2, please proceed to Step 2.
Note: the exact fuse holder colour and look of plug may differ. But a user-accessible fuse should be on the plug.
As the UK importer for Pro-Ject Audio Systems products, Henley Audio can offer you a swap-out service, where your original turntable is collected and replaced with a new unit. At the time of writing, first stocks are expected to become available for this service by the end of August 2023.
To claim your swap-out replacement, please contact primary@henleyaudio.co.uk with a picture of your serial number and your incorrect plug, and a member of the team will walk you through the process.
For cases where you would prefer a modification due to any customisations you may have made to the turntable, this can also be arranged through primary@henleyaudio.co.uk. Your original turntable can easily be made fully compliant by rewiring with a new plug. We are happy to offer this service for you free of charge with immediate effect.
