T1 takes Pro-Ject's decades worth of engineering experience and expertise, alongside extensive market feedback, to produce an easy to enjoy piece of hi-fi that can be accommodated into almost any environment thanks to its multiple finish options and three output versions, including a Bluetooth option.
The T1 is based around a CNC-machined plinth carefully manufactured to ensure there are no hollow spaces inside, avoiding unwanted vibrations within the finished product.
Mounted inside the plinth is a precision belt drive system, attached to a newly designed sub-platter, which itself is engineered to the finest tolerances for stable mounting into the stainless-steel axle/brass-bushing main bearing – the same bearing featured on the multi-award winning Essential III turntable.
Automatic speed change is conveniently handled by the 3 position power switch on the side of the plinth.
Switching between 33 and 45 RPM has never been easier, thanks to the manual drive belt change.
The sub-platter drives the new ABS Polymer main platter, which is strengthened with purpose-designed ridges in order to create an ideal, anti-resonant platform for your vinyl.
The tonearm on the T1 is a new 8.6” model featuring a larger one-piece aluminium tube and an improved gimble bearing assembly with low-friction components for absolute accuracy in use. Mounted with an Ortofon OM 5E cartridge with elliptical diamond stylus for great sound, the tonearm is also pre-set for downforce and anti-skate settings, so there’s no need for any complicated set-up; you can get playing straight out of the box!
The T1 is finished with properly shielded, semi symmetrical, low-capacitance phono cables, fixed to the turntable underneath the tonearm. Additionally, the T1 is equipped with a phono output, for connecting to a phono stage.
The T1 Phono SB includes a built-in speed control for automatic switching between 33 and 45 RPM and a switchable Moving Magnet phono stage.
Whereas the T1 BT contains a bluetooth transmitter for wireless music streaming to your favourite speakers and headphones.
Effortlessly simple to set-up and produces a highly engaging, accessible sound that really makes your records sing. Made in Europe, and featuring only premium materials – there is no plastic where it shouldn’t be, as every component part is made to the same exacting standards as far more expensive designs. Pro-Ject have a passionate belief in the importance of true stereo sound, and their turntables are a key part of that.

Henley Says...
The T1's glass platter is a definite focal point of the turntable. There are plenty of pros and cons to any material used for sound reproduction, so often it comes down to a balancing game between practicality and costs. Having a variation in which materials are used gives users more of a say in which of these pros particularly matter to them; for example: glass platters are rigid and won't be at risk of warping, they are heavy and dense resulting in good vibration mitigation, and they can look great as a centrepiece to your system.
Many of our turntables may have multiple compatible counterweights available. The counterweight you actually need is the one that allows you to balance your existing cartridge while ideally sitting near the tonearm bearing when fully installed.
If your counterweight sits right at the back of the tonearm, it runs the risk of introducing some micro-vibrations, so aiming for a counterweight where your cartridge weight is in the lower range of the supported weights is ideal.
To help you make the right decision, we've produced a comprehensive list of all our tonearms and counterweights.
