The B-Line celebrates its return

The original B1 amplifier was an important part of Musical Fidelity’s history, as it brought the now world-famous Musical Fidelity “sound” to a wider audience in the early years of the company. During 2025, the legendary “B” moniker will once again enter the Musical Fidelity range as a modern, full-feature solution for people looking to experience the best of Musical Fidelity at an affordable price.

At the Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2025, music lovers will get their first proper look at the new B1xi integrated amplifier and B1xCD CD player, before the products’ full market release in the early Summer. As the products are still in their final design and production stages, the B1xi and B1xCD used during the show will be representative examples, to give you a taste of what to expect.

B1xi

The B1xi is a Class A/B amplifier designed entirely in the Musical Fidelity style. Its well-balanced 50W (8Ω) / 100W (4Ω) of output power is supported by over-specified transformers, which create enough power reserve to support a wide range of speakers with ease. It’s also incredibly easily to fit into any living environment thanks to its multitude of inputs. With an MM phono input, HDMI ARC, coaxial and optical inputs, and a Bluetooth streaming input, alongside three RCA inputs and a stereo pre-amp output, there’s very little this exciting new amplifier won’t work well with.

B1xCD

The B1xCD makes use of a true Red Book CD-DA drive, fed by a tray-loader mechanism. Designed to extract as much information as possible, accurately from the disc, the player aims to deliver an excellent technical performance with low jitter. The large display screen and clear button layout makes the CD player easy to operate and live with.

Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2025

Both the B1xi and B1xCD will be on display at the Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2025 in Room 316, alongside other forthcoming Musical Fidelity products. The projected SRP for these devices is £699.00 and £599.00, respectively (TBC).
